What a great week end, 9 boats & 11 sailors were out on the water with 2 new faces (Darren Nicolson & Dave Oddy) & 2 newly back on an IC faces (Niclas Westing & Dave Olthof). The banter & stories at the pub/club both Friday & Saturday night & of course the racing both days made it a fantastic week end.

We got in 3 races in challenging 2-10 knot conditions with everyone improving as the regatta unfolded.

Points of note are

Pete Langman was getting the hang of tacking & wisely went to in the bar after the AP was hoisted before the first race so hands down is the strategists of the fleet. 

Niclas Westing took Bunyip out Friday & Saturday before swapping to Josie & showed off his previous IC experience in the challenging & shifty conditions

The first time on a new rules IC, Ashley Mills got out on 32 on Sunday filling in on the water, as our newly appointed publicity officer Geoff Campbell was engaged on shore. 

Dave Oddy completed race 2 & 3 on Bunyip proving to be a tactical genius at the start of R2 making nearly every canoe take his transom or tack off. Looking forward to seeing him on the water more!

Darren Nicolson showed up & put in 2 solid races on 37 proving that the IC might not be as hard to sail as the  myth's & stories tell.

Most wondered if Geoff Carne actually turned up & often seemed more interested in checking for weed then sailing.

Sean Langman's significant improvement from the nationals had him challenging in the lead pack!

Dave Olthof got Sweet Louise out & was putting her through her paces, we are all looking forward to seeing him out more with the IC Fleet.

Craig Phillips was had a great regatta, & was playing catch with Ross in between starts, though I think Ross thought it was hand ball.

Hayden Virtue was in great form, banking 2 1st places & setting the standard once again
